Istria is famous for its rich and diverse tourist offer, so for hiking lovers it provides many opportunities of the most beautiful trails.

When this healthy activity joins with the pleasures offered by the natural, cultural and historical beauties, then the experience is complete. During walking from one side you have a look at the endless blue sky, the other at the bell towers of the Istrian medieval towns which are situated at the inland of Istria.

You can hike in summer, but more in spring and autumn and also in winter considering the mild Mediterranean climate. There are a lot of hiking trails around the peninsula.

In the area of central Istria You can expect a lot of trails: walking trails Parenzana – the trail of health and friendship, walking trail at St. Zenon at Brtonigla, educational walking trails Pazin Cave, walking trail Pazin - Beram, walking trail St. Simon - Gračišće, walking trail Grdoselo - Zelengrad, walking trail of dry wall - Kringa, walking trail Buzet-Kotli-Hum-Buzet, walking trails of the Venetian lion at Višnjan, educational trail Plas - Učka Nature Park, walking trail Vela Draga and hiking trail Korita.

In Poreč and its surroundings you can walk on one of the many marked trails: The shade of pine trees (Poreč - Plava Laguna), Across the Lagoons (Plava Laguna – Zelena Laguna), Sports and recreational zone (Poreč - hotel Materada), Natural coastline (Materada - Červar Porat - Červar - Materada), By the ancient villas (Červar Porat - Vabriga - Červar Porat), From the olive grove to oil (Lanterna - Vabriga - Tar - Lanterna), from Lanterna to Lanterna (around the Lanterna peninsula) and At the old town (a tour around the town core of Poreč).

In Vižinada there are the Ring of St. Thomas and Heart of Vižinada hiking trails, along with further to the south a hiking trail Funtana - Vrsar.
In the area of Labin and Rabac there is a hiking trail Labin - Rabac - Prklog and hiking trail of St. Flor - The legend of the gold.
In the area of Pula there are eight trails that are marked with special tags of the animals after which they were named.
